Reverend James Han

Rev. James Han is the Senior Pastor of Redeemer.  Pastor James received a B.A. in English from U.C. Irvine in 1993 and Masters of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary of Escondido in 1997.  He is ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and is an active member of the Korean Southwest Presbytery.
Pastor James lives in Downey with his wife, Sorah, and their three children, Iain, Selah, and Nathan.  Pastor James loves playing sports and hanging out over a hot cup of Starbucks coffee.  Pastor James was born in 1971.

 

Reverend Daniel Chong

Rev. Daniel Chong joined the Redeemer family as the Assistant Pastor in 2005.  Pastor Daniel graduated from U.C. Irvine in 1999 (B.A. Economics).  He then pursued and obtained his Masters of Divinity from Westminster Theological Seminary of Escondido in 2003.  Pastor Daniel was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and is an active member of the Korean Southwest Presbytery.  Pastor Daniel assists Pastor James in all aspects of ministry.  He is currently heading up our Singles Ministry. Pastor Daniel resides in Montrose with his wife, Maria.  Pastor Daniel enjoys playing, watching, discussing basketball.  He was born in 1976. 

Dr. Maristela Cho

Dr. Maristela Cho is the Education Director at Redeemer.  She received a B.A. in English Language Arts and Elementary Education at Hunter College in 2000 and an M.A. in Teaching of English at Teachers College, Columbia University in 2004.  She taught sixth grade English for four years in New York before moving out to Los Angeles to continue her education.  She received a Doctorate of Education in Language and Literacy at the University of Southern California in 2008.  Dr. Cho heads all aspects of Redeemer’s Sunday School program, overseeing both the nursery and elementary program.  Mary lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Paul, and her two daughters, Madeleine and Emily.  She loves to spend her free time baking, scrapbooking, and taking photographs of her daughters.
